Meet the Team – Joshua Edgar

Since starting at Block Management UK Ltd 12 years ago, Joshua Edgar has developed into a hugely experienced and knowledgeable member of the senior team.

Joining the company as an 18-year-old business development assistant, Joshua quickly showed his hard-working attitude, providing crucial support for the sales team before being given his own portfolio of properties to oversee.

Joshua said he had a memorable first day.

"When I started at Block Management UK I was working from our Boxford office in Suffolk, the black barn," he said.

"I remember on my first day the office was a little out of the way, so I had to pull over and ask the postman where it was.

"He just looked at me like I was mad, because we were standing right in front of it."

Joshua later returned to sales and administration until the property development side of the business was established.

Meanwhile he completed his associate Institute of Residential Property Management IRPM qualification and, 18 months later, his member IRPM.

He is now one of the most senior property managers at the company.

Joshua said it was a great feeling, having started off at the company as a teenager, to be able to impart his knowledge to newer members of the team.

He said: "There has definitely been a change over the years.

"You start off and are asking people for advice and now I'm one of the people colleagues go for advice.

"It's nice to be able to share my experiences to the new members of the team, give them the same support I received when I started here."

Joshua, a father of three young children, said he loved his job and the supportive spirit among the Block Management UK Ltd team.

"There are no two days the same in this job – there are plenty of times I see something and think, wow, that's the first time I've seen that.

"It is a very supportive place to work, you can always tap anyone on the shoulder for advice and help.

"It's a very positive working environment here."
