Expanding our accounts team

With our return to the office, albeit under strict distancing rules, Block Management UK Ltd is continuing its plans for expansion over 2020 with a new apprentice role.

In order to handle the increase in business we have experienced this year, the accounts department has been reorganising. Part of these exciting changes is to bring in new talent and we think an apprentice is the perfect option for us.

The new accounts apprentice will be based at our head office in Sudbury, Suffolk where they will work closely with the team on a wide variety of day to day accounting duties within our core business of property management.

Their main duties will include ensuring accurate reconciliation of client reports, general maintenance of client funds, making amendments to client accounts and maintaining our extensive property and tenant database for all clients under remit.

The successful candidate could ideally (but not essentially) have some previous relevant accounting experience, the candidate could also have experience working in a team/office environment and be able to demonstrate that they can work under minimal supervision and be experienced in all forms of communication (phone, email, letter etc.) following suitable training.

Core office hours are 9am – 5pm, Monday to Friday. Work outside these hours could be possible in future depending on the successful applicant’s progress.

Future prospects include further employment and study opportunities should the successful candidate wish following completion of their apprenticeship period. Previous studies have been retained as part of our team and have worked up to management level and beyond and could be a realistic goal for a successful and motivated candidate.

The successful candidate must be computer literate and have good people skills. Candidates should be outgoing and able to hold discussions with high level clients following relevant training.  A good level of English and Maths is essential. The successful candidate should be committed, hardworking and motivated.

Salary is to be determined.

Driving – Useful but not essential initially. The successful candidate should have desires to learn to drive if not already driving as this will be essential to their future prospects with the Company

The role will most likely be office based for the duration of the apprenticeship period. If following the apprenticeship the successful candidate continues to progress with us there will be opportunities for out of office work including client meetings. For an exceptional candidate this could be a realistic goal during their apprenticeship period.

Interested applicants must apply through the official government website www.findapprenticeship.service.gov.uk
